2016 was a very positive year for the Briggs and Forrester Group’s health and safety record. We continued our excellent performance in an industry where working to keep everyone safe is of paramount importance. Even with increases over the last few years in project turnover, number of man hours worked and number of workers, we have still seen a year on year reduction in accidents and lost time injuries.
From everyone across the Briggs and Forrester Group we would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!

Briggs and Forrester Group Chairman Mike Stanton recently highlighted the growth and success of the company during 2016.
"The Briggs and Forrester Group has had a busy and successful year, with turnover increasing to £183m, up from £160m in 2015. Secured orders are at a healthy level and are supported by a good pipeline of potential opportunities going forward.
During the current year we have secured our largest ever project, Principal Place with Multiplex, with a value in excess of £40m."
Helping young people into the construction and engineering workplace has always been an important element of the growth of the Briggs and Forrester Group. As the we celebrate our 70th year we are excited to be working with youth charity The Prince’s Trust, an organisation that is renowned for inspiring and supporting young lives. A recent donation of £10,000 will help The Prince’s Trust to help disadvantaged young people get into work, education and training.
Site health and safety is not just something we do to follow the rules and tick the boxes. Everyone needs to take responsibility for their environment and the people in it, whatever they do and whoever they work for.

We had a wonderful day on 16th September across our offices fundraising in support of one our colleagues, who at 44 has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Showing our support for him, his wife and three children was the driving force behind the fantastic response that we had from both inside and outside the company.
Some of the fundraising included car washing, throwing sponges at the stocks, baking, raffles and even singing and dancing!
The generosity of everyone has been so inspiring and we want to thank all who pledged and supported us.
The Briggs & Forrester Group is very proud to be in the top 10 for our category in the Construction Enquirer Awards 2016 - Best Specialist Contractor to Work for (over £25m turnover).
The awards are an excellent way for those involved in the industry to vote for their peers, with more than 11,000 votes being cast over all the categories.
The winner in each Top 10 will be announced at an event in Birmingham on October 18th 2016.
With thousands of students looking to decide their future direction at the moment a new report from Barclays and the Centre for Economics and Business Research has highlighted the potential of apprenticeships over university courses. With the increasing financial burdens of study, the idea of earning while learning has grown in popularity.
