Places for People

Combined Energy Solutions is proud to announce the continued growth of our relationship with Places for People, one of the largest property and leisure management, development and regeneration companies in the UK.

We have recently added five new sites to our leisure portfolio with Places for People, taking the total to over 50 throughout the UK. We maintain the air conditioning, boilers, ventilation and refrigeration provision for each of the sites.

East Village London Olympics M&E facilities management

As the Rio Olympic village starts to fill up with athletes from around the world did you know that CES plays a part in the history of the Olympics? When the London Olympics finished the accommodation for competitors was converted into a residential development. CES supports the property landlord’s mechanical and electrical requirements in the public areas at London’s vibrant East Village, keeping the facilities ticking over.

RoSPA Health and Safety award winners

Congratulations to everyone in the Briggs and Forrester Group, but particularly to our Health & Safety Team. They received Briggs and Forrester’s 2016 RoSPA Occupational Health & Safety Awards at a gala event in London on Tuesday. Our Group achieved a Gold Medal for the fifth consecutive occasion and the division Engineering Services achieved the President’s Award, following 13 consecutive Gold Awards.

Management buy out Briggs and Forrester Mike Stanton

The 23-person Management Team at the Briggs and Forrester Group have increased their equity stake in the business to 60% following a Management Buyout that was completed on 10 June 2016, supported by funding provided by Barclays Bank Plc.

This follows the Group’s long term strategy of remaining an owner-managed business which commenced with the partial management buyout completed in 2006, where the management team acquired 20% equity in the business.

The Briggs and Forrester Group has been doubly successful in the 60th year of the RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2016.

The Group achieved a Gold Medal award for the fifth consecutive occasion and the Group division Briggs and Forrester Engineering Services achieved the President’s Award, following 13 consecutive Gold Awards. The prestigious annual scheme is run by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

The awards will be presented at a ceremony at Excel London on 21st June 2016.

Places for People leisure centres facilities maintenance

We are very happy to continue our relationship with Places for People, providing maintenance services across a region of their leisure centre facilities. We’ve recently developed the portfolio of centres that we support to 50 across the South East. This maintenance support includes air conditioning, boilers, ventilation and refrigeration provision.

East Village London maintenance contract

We’re delighted to continue our relationship with East Village, home of the former 2012 Olympic Village. The CES maintenance teams have supported the property landlords’ Mechanical and Electrical requirements for the last four years and have recently been awarded a contract for another 12 month period. They work with landlords across the public areas of the residential and retail facilities.

CES maintenance Vauxhall Bridge project

We’re proud to announce that we have been awarded a three year contract for the maintenance of a landmark residential building near Vauxhall Bridge, London.

Our two-man team, including mobile in-house specialist technicians, will be responsible for the maintenance of the building’s common plant systems, supporting the landlords Mechanical and Electrical plant systems.

Mike Stanton interview Back in the black at Briggs and Forrester

Independent M&E contractor Briggs & Forrester Group is on track to achieve its three-year target of building a £250m turnover business. The firm returned a pre-tax profit of £3.6m in the year to 31 October 2015, bouncing back from a £2.7m loss after clearing legacy contracts the year before.

Chairman Mike Stanton said the business was on track to deliver turnover of £195m this year after achieving revenue up 8% to £164m last year.

There was a fun atmosphere in the offices on Friday 18th March when everyone 'dressed down', or up in some cases, to raise funds for Sport Relief. Our current total stands at nearly £300 - well done everyone for supporting this worthy cause - and having some fun too!
